Edgar Allen Poe was a writer from the American Romantic Movement. Born January 19, 1809, Edgar was one of the first writers of short stories and is recognized for his uncanny staples of literature. "The Raven" is one of his more popular narrative poems where a lover is mourning the loss of his love. The story tracks the downward spiral of his sanity where he eventually begins venting to a raven that constantly repeats "Nevermore". The poem was published in 1845 and now remains as one of the most famous poems penned.
